    Unhappy Ptosis

Sorry to keep bothering you guys, but I have one more question. When I was 8 or so I had surgery to lift my eyelid because I had ptosis. It was successful except for the fact that my eye is still a bit droopy. Is there anything that can be done about this (on my own or with the aid of a scalpel) or is it too late (I am now a teen)?

With a scalpel, probably but you need a plastic or opthalmic plastic surgeon to get a good evaluation.

As to other things, spectacles can be made (if you find an old, skillfull optician) wit a ptosis crutch (a small protusion on the back of the glasses to push or hold the lid up.

One could be fittted with a scleral contact lens (if you can find an even older optician/contact lens technician) that also can also have the design modified (on the front) for this condition.

Depends on how much of a problem either visually or cosmeticly and how much it bothers you as to whether it's worth any of the above.

    Confound it, Chip

You said everything right about the ptosis crutch until you said an "old" and skilled optician.
    I made hundreds of them.
But, (pounding on my chest) the "old" bit cuts me to the quick.
    You're a poop!
    Take care . . . "ancient one!"
