How does orange & blue light affect a person w/macular degeneration? Why does PGX, as an option to block these colors of the spectrum, work?

Jane:
I think only UV light adversly effects macular degeneration. Blue light helps you see color but doesn't do anything to the eye except in those late night infomercials for Blue Blockers and Eagle Eyes.
Orange or Yellow-red filters as in Corning 550 , 600 & 650 helps those with some retinal problems (like albinsim, retinitus pigmintosa and macular degeneration) filter out some rays in order to discern those that the retina can react (see) to better.

Did you see the vitamins study for macular degeneration?
Do you recomend them?
Heard Paul Harvey advertizing them. Have had ophthalmologist say this combined with an asperin a day was a good propholactic and possibly a helpful treatment. Don't personally know enough to have a good opinion.
