Deaf Associate Support

So I work in the lab portion of a 1 hour retail store. One of my associates is deaf, and we're trying to find a decent way to alert him when a new order is printed. I've heard several different ideas involving beam detectors, much like the ones used on doors. I'm just worried that it would be a bit too bulky. Anyone have any ideas?

I can think of a couple ways. You could mount a red light somewhere visible and wire it to a motion sensor mounted above the printer. You could also make a wireless alert system that vibrates. I'm assuming you work at LensCrafters, If so PM me and I'll let you know how I run my lab. His deafness wouldn't be an issue with the system we use.

Why try to guess what your coworker wants? Your coworker knows his limitations and possibilities better than anyone. I would suggest asking him what would work best!
