    Pinterest.......um, hmmmm.

Ok, I just spent the last few hours creating a pinterest diddlydoo for our shop, goodness knows if it was worth the time or not (or the time to keep it current)...lol. I am going to be brave and stick the link to it so you guys can hopefully give me an idea of what it is that I might want to change, add, delete, etc. Constructive Criticism is the name of the game I have attached it to our facebook and to my own facebook account, we shall see if anything becomes of it or if it was a waste of time.
Has anyone else created one for their store?

Now please remember, I have only just started this, so there is a lot that that is probably pretty sparce looking, just bear with me please!!!!

thanks everyone who takes a peak!

A man went to an eye specialist to get his eyes tested and asked, "Doctor, will I be able to read after wearing glasses?"
"Yes, of course," said the doctor, "why not!"
"Oh! How nice it would be," said the patient with joy, "I have been illiterate for so long."

As a pinner, your boards look great. On your top, I would put Montgomery and your state. Pediatrics is spelled wrong. If you have a website, facebook, and address put it up. Pinterest is showing up on google search. I would put instead of doctor, you can say eye doctor or optometrist. It is for the key word on search. I know you don't have a lot of space to write it all in, but it all about search these days.
Congratulations, this will be a good thing for your show, it's easy and fun..

LOL, thank you....proof reading would probably be helpful on my part! Leave it to a blonde to mispell something basic!!! Thank you for the feedback! :)

I started one for myself too, and I have to admit that social media is a total time suck! I have the time now, but as I get busier it's going to get harder! But people who are friends of friends do enjoy the pins. Mine is just a personal page linked to my business FB page. I am getting referrals from it....

I manage the social media for our office (it helps that my husband has an Ad agency, yay for free advice!) and it doesn't have to be a time suck. We post three times a week on our Facebook page; Mondays are for health related posts, Wednesday is for Polyvore fashion layouts including our eyewear, and Friday is a joke or a cartoon.

I pull a lot of material from Pinterest.

Could somebody explain Pinterest to me?

I don't know what it is, why you would use it, what it does, etc.

Dumb it down for me because I am a goof!

It's pretty simple Fezz. You aren't a goof.:)

The website allows you to "pin" information to a virtual corkboard so you can refer back to the "pin" when you want/need to at your leisure. For instance, I "pin" a lot of recipes because I'm a serious cook. Bookmarks are difficult to follow because you may not remember exactly what you saved by the name but if you "pin" an image you can say, "My, but that looks tasty...I remember that image, I think I'll make that." I have different "boards" for different interests, cooking, art, funny stuff, clothing I like, etc.

In regards to eyecare, a business can pin brands they carry, eyecare factoids, and the like. I get a lot of my health care posts and funny bits for our facebook page from Pinterest.

    Sort of, yes!

I really enjoy it from a culinary perspective, so many fabulous recipes. My Fourth of July menu consisted almost exclusively of recipes I pinned. I also "follow" people who have similar interests and "repin" from their boards if I choose. Some examples; I follow Nordstrom, Brahmin(handbags), Women's Health- I have bought things I have pinned and I enjoy the health and fitness boards for their exercise tips and motivational articles.

The fun part is that people will "follow" your boards if it matches their interests or, much like with facebook, if you ask them to follow you on it. Within a few days you can have a whole crop of people who you know have never been patients in your shop before all of sudden keeping tabs on what you are posting.

Hahaha! So true! But all these nifty little "harmless" things that we keep coming up with just may be the means to our true goal.....Total Global Rule!
