    Vets do it

The optical community should really think seriously about charging for services now, especially measurements/adjusting/troubleshooting eyewear purchased online. My vet is doing it, for crying out loud. On their computer-generated invoice it reads: "Please note that there will be a $10.00 charge for any prescription written by us that is to be filled through the internet, television, and/or catalog companies".

I would find a new Vet. That is not the right way to compete with online.

I also don't put a fee on doing anything for internet eyewear, I just won't do anything, no repair, no troubleshoot, no PD, no nothing. That person is not my customer anyhow.
