    I wonder if this will ever be developed for use in corrective ophthalmics.

    It's using defractive optics, Eschenbach has high plus lenses using defractive optics. The lenses in the article seemed to elude to specific to one wavelength, and more that likely lasers if they are using it for fiber optics. Very cool link thanks for enlightening me.
