    Surfacing ? : Pits

We are using a LOH V95 in surfacing and getting pits across the the lens. The test lens we are using is CR39. I remember getting this before but can't remember how we solved the issue. I checked the milling tool/cutter and the cutters themselves ad there doesn't seem to be any damage to either. I also checked to make sure it is sitting flush in the machine.

    Any ideas?

Slow your feed down. The pits you are seeing come from the cutter actually pulling chunks out of the lens instead of grinding them away. This is caused by feeding the cutter too fast across the lens surface.

That was it thanks! Someone went in and unlocked the macros and changed the rates. Thanks again!
