    Davis Vision "VIP member"?

I just received an interesting call from Davis Vision yesterday, Tracy, a supervisor with Davis Vision's escalation team, called up and told us we had a "VIP, high profile" member coming in, in the next several days. Has anyone else received this call and if so what has been you experience with that patient, are they a problem patient?

They're only a problem because they have Davis Vision Insurance

Typically they are a VP of human resources or other such person that has influence choosing employee benefits for a large Davis account.

Yup, morinput has it exactly right. It is a person who has a lot of sway in choosing the employee benefits for one of their accounts. We often got a call of this nature when one certain patient was on the books. They would even call to see how the experience went later. Of course, since I was present when he called them up after sending his order back for a 3rd time....made sense why they always called...

Oh man! I LIVE for those days when I get a VIP like this in! I pull them aside, explain exactly what the process is, and exactly WHY it will take them so long to get the glasses. Of course, we don't take Davis, but we've done it for others, and have successfully talked some of them right out of the plan, and into our own, or to Eyemed. Of course, that was when Eyemed was optician friendly...now we're going to see about converting them all onto our in-house plans.

I just wish that I could get a head's up call as to when the VIPs were coming in. Usually, I have to go to their offices, or meet them at a chamber of commerce meeting (I belong to 12 chambers), and offer them a free exam to check us out.

I am not sure whether there is a "gag" clause in the DV contract, but I always look forward to the opportunity to tell those VIPs the real deal.

Tell em honestly how Davis Vision is, show them you have to be on food stamps, and that the lenses are made in a war zone, right now Syria.
