    Yes edger. :)

It goes to begin the roughing cycle and then freezes and makes a grinding sound. There is nothing blocking movement from what I can tell. Someone told me this may be a chip issue of some sort... Any ideas?

Sounds like your grinding wheels are binding. Do you run poly or trivex in this machine? If the swarf is not being cleared by a small water flow from behind, material can be pulled in behind wheel hub. With the edger off, check to see if you can move the grinding wheels by hand. If not there is a small access hole in which you can insert an allen wrench to rotate back and forth until you can free up the wheels. You may see a small amount of the swarf..looks like a small melted piece come free. Can you post a pic of your edger.

Nope. No poly or trivex. chamber squeaky clean and running on fresh water. The thing is: the chuck isn't moving either. Nothing moves... it just make horrible noises and then we get the error message.

The problem may be in the chuck bearings or drive motors. Remove cover and check for any build up on visible drive gears. There is a nylon type belt that connects left side chuck that might be binding. As I mentioned if you can post a pic of the edger I might be able to assist further. At this point I'm guessing as to solution based on my experience with my 730
