    Take Quercitin, it is found in health food shops. It naturally prevents the release of histimine, so presto, no longer allergic.. Workes all of the time, been using it myself for decades, and have had hundreds of patients respond very well with it. And after a bit your step-dad will become aclimated to the cat.

    A far easier way would be to put the kitty bubbles in the toilet, add cat, close lid and flush. The dog calls it a 'swirly'.

    That is the crudest thing I have ever read! Humans could contract diseases like that! I think that is much more sanitary to just put kitty in the clothes dryer. And, in case you're thinking I'm some kind of insensitive ogre, I ALWAYS use the "delicates" cycle.

    Incidentally, my wife loves cats, so our compromise is that the cat must stay in the barn. She got a new kitten two weeks ago, and yesterday, the 3 year old amish neighbor told her mom (she doesn't speak English yet) that the "kitty flew away with the bird". Sure enough, my wife couldn't find the kitten anywhere.

    This morning, the mom came over and said her daughter told her the bird came back, but not the kitty. We looked around, and there on top of the barn was a huge red-tailed hawk! Yep, he was looking for another kitty!

    About the dryer;
    I prefer the "Air-Fluff" cycle for mine.

    About the hawk;
    Aww...poor kitty. Survival of the fittest I suppose.

    Funny! Reminds me of a Thurber quote..."The dog has got more fun out of Man than Man has got out of the dog, for the clearly demonstrable reason that Man is the more laughable of the two animals."

    Clearly, she should have put you in the barn instead of the kitten.

    I probably do spend more time in the barn than the cat did! Our barn has wi-fi,refrigerator, stereo, and comfortable chairs. There are only a few reasons that I would need to go into the house.
