I have a patient demanding a frame with cable temples and of course, glass saftey lenses. It dosent look like any of the frame vendors we use make those anymore. anyone know where I can order these things?

Of course the best thing you can do is get a cable temple conversion kit from Optisource, Hilco, Western Optical or any one of a number of optical suppliers and custom length them to the patient.

I recommend Hilco: http://www.hilco.com/catalog/catalog...in.asp&CatID=4
If this is a safety job, does altering the frame negate it's Z80 compliance?
Z87 you mean...but offhand, I can't see how. Z87 is basically about ensuring the lens doesn't break and that the frame retains the lens. As long as you aren't modifying the front or removing any of the markings...
I believe that any altering of any parts, must pass testing:

Thanks Mike. I knew that, but I must have been thinking cars!
Fezz, that's what I thought.
yea...so make sure you replace any screws or nosepads with original parts or the people that police this ridiculous standard will come after you and throw your a@@ in jail.
