  • Is there any training positions at a major optical chains that you know of? :-)

I used to do all the training for Designer Eyewear (the original optical in the Sam's Clubs) years ago and I truly loved training new hires with NO experience and I trained on how to increase your sales and how to maximize your insurance sales when I was an sales rep. for Legends 4.0. It was truly my calling and I've wanted to do it again ever since but have never come across any job postings about it. It is such an important thing to have is ongoing training. I live in Burleson, Texas near Fort Worth but willing to travel, of course. I appreciate any help you give me.

    Thanks so much ,

    Shelley

As long as you're in the area, you may want to check with the Eyemart Express corporate office. If they don't have trainers, they should.

Eyemart Express provides designer frames and prescription eyeglasses. Visit site for eyeglasses coupons on progressive lens, sun glasses, frames and more.

Optigirlie: Have you checked with the OAA, the CLSA and the other organizations that certify and furnish speakers for the various continueing education speakers? When you do use spell check and grammar check. I say this not as criticism but people expect correct spelling and grammar from those that hold teaching postions of any type.
I am sure these can get you certification and leads on either corporate education or week-end course presentations you can present. I personally have only seen about three course presenters in the last couple of decades that delt with essential optical education. All the rest have been in one way related to sales presenting the latest and greatest product of thier corporate sponsors. There definitely is a market for course presenters of basic skills.
You will of course have to present some examples of what you intend to present in your courses.

I *think* at Legends all the training has been folded into the sales rep/account manager positions. Have you tried calling and asking or just sending a resume? The Hoya Dallas lab has pretty high turnover, you might do the same there.

                  Hi Optigirlie

I know Eyemasters was just baught out by Visionworks. I started with them years ago in 1986 in Miami Florida when they were owned by Eckerd Drugs. They are openning one in Mansfield. You may want to contact them. Good Luck.
