What is the best country to be an Optician?

What country do you think has the best scope of practice for Opticians, best pay scale, and the most advancement in both technology and product?

Don't know for sure, but Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand all bring smiles.

Maybe I should move to Switzerland! In New Zealand a DO salary is around 50-60K NZ, so about 40-45K US dollars. In Australia I've been told its better, more around the 70k which is pretty comparable to the US. We don't fit contact lenses, at least in Auckland there is not many places with inhouse glazing..

I would choose the country closest to your own, the commute to Switzerland is atrocious.

.........................to commute to a job in another country would be not only atrocious it would be stupid, you might end up paying taxes in 2 countries.
    You immigrate and enjoy.

I immigrated from Switzerland to Canada which then was the promised land and did well after getting over the first few tough years.
A year ago my oldest daughter, with a double citizenship Canada-Switzerland, moved to Switzerland and seems to like it, including a trip back home every 4 month.
