What's the one tool that you can't live without?

So I'm finally taking the plunge so to speak. Over the next couple months I'm going to be setting up a (very) small mobile shop for glasses (mostly for friends and family, and only on the weekends.) I've been working on a list of all the stuff I'm going to need, but I'm sure I'm overlooking something. So I thought I'd tap y'alls brains for that one tool you just can't live without - figured it might help me finish my list. And if you have any other words of wisdom, feel free to share. :)

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.

On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!

Two, actually: interchangeable tips on my screwdrivers and my eyewire reshaper.

My husband. He's kinda a tool.

    Sorry I couldn't help it. :)

According to my Amcon catalog, my favorite tool is called a wide jaw angling plier.

    PD stick

For rapping knuckles unless It's metal, then when it gets unruly It's wobble bass and and a new rule. They all have to get bent eventually.

    Congratulations on your new path.
    Thank you

That tiny tool with a hook for lifting rimless cord. I hate to use it, but sometimes my hands just not strong enough to pull the cord open enough to slide a ribbon in when I'm alone in the shop. It turns a three-hand job into a two-hand. That sounded bad, but there you have it.

I use it often and call it the hook-a-dooka.

HAND SANITIZER! Ok, not exactly a tool, so I'll go with a door frame, since our bench block is in an unreachable spot :)

A man went to an eye specialist to get his eyes tested and asked, "Doctor, will I be able to read after wearing glasses?"
"Yes, of course," said the doctor, "why not!"
"Oh! How nice it would be," said the patient with joy, "I have been illiterate for so long."

The screw holding tool Hilco part#21/105/0000 $11.99 even though my old school boss says they are for the technically incompetent. I have four.

I also keep one in a huge sunglass case as a portable glove compartment tool kit for on the spot repairs. 1 screw driver holder, with philips, flat head, screw extractors, and broach that fit it. 4 different sizes nosepads (screw on and push in), a foot of fishing line, razor blade, and lens cleaning cloth. Assorted self-tapping screws in a tiny ancient contact lens holder bottle. One pair of flat snub nose pliers and one tiny pair of side-cutters that are really meant for electronic applications. I think you can do most anything with this minimal equipment.

No kidding. Friends and family? Booze and lots of it. Use a flask if you need to be discreet.

Besides my husband? My sense of humor. Can't be an optician without it!
