Pearle Vision PAL -- what is it?

I have a patient that's bouncing out of a Kodak Unique. Small script change, in poly, plenty of height.

Her old lens came from Pearle. Markings on the temporal side:

PV above the circle (for Pearle Vision?)
212 or 213 below the circle (one is right, one is left)

    Markings nasal (cut off)

67 above the circle (1.67 I would assume)
under the circle ends in a '5'

    Thanks!

More than likely their "HD" lens, which was redesigned from their "Easyview" lens. It's their solution to an in-house freeform. You're seeing the compensated add powers under the lens markings. It's surely a 1.67. I always heard something about Shamir helping to design the lens, which I can't confirm at all, but more than likely won't get more than that out of anybody working there as there is more a focus on retail than anything else. The lab could never give me a straight answer and neither could anyone else working with the company while I was there, technical details were always very sparse. Good luck!

    Awesome, thanks!

Her old pair was 1.67 ... this new set is Poly (She's like +1.00 distance with a +2.00 add -- nothing gained by 1.67). Her complaint in the Unique are that she has to pick her chin up to the near seg in order to get to the computer. I've seen this a hand-full of times in the Kodak Unique. Moving to the Varilux-du-jour usually fixes it. We've had tremendous success in the Unique at a significant cost savings to us and our patients.

The Pearle "HD" or Easyview PAL is the Autograph 1. This came directly from their southeast lab representative.
