They also own FGX which makes Foster Grant, Magnivision, Gargoyles,...If you consider all of the reading glasses they sell they may be considered one of the largest frame manufacturers in the world.

Drive traffic and sales to store locations, website and any wholesale business opportunities. Provide results analysis measuring traffic, sales transactions, average order and unit value, profit, market share and lifts.

This is the one line that caught my attention.

Essilor (or earlier versions of what Essilor morphed from) was in the frame business before most of you were born.

Freres Lissac, Silor, SL, Essel, and finally Essilor, the first to make and market the Nylor Frames which are yhe grooved frames with a fishing line string.

What you should not like is that the own the majority shares of "Frames Direct: for the last 2 years. They are now your largest single retail competition as they sell their high quality lenses through them at slightly different prices.

And the fact that they are making a concerted effort to EXPAND.

I'm as anti-Essilor as anyone and I know I will catch heat for this, but isn't the goal of most businesses to grow and increase revenue and market share?

AustinEyewear, are you satisfied to be at or below last year's sales? Every company has the right to expand their business.

If you don't like what they are doing, don't patronize that company. SIMPLE!!!
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

Very simple advice that might have worked 30 years ago. Like when US Shoe sold LC to Luxxotica.

Both Essilor and Lux have a goal that is not only growing, it is obviously phisical domination of the optical whole sale and retail trade. The north American continent is the official testing ground, where in commerce ruthless behaviour is admired. May the strongest win. Any manufacturing company that has purchased the largest optical on-line retailer that sells at prices that are many miles below a regular B&M store has declared commercial war, you just don't realize it.

You are forgetting to see long range results, which will be demise of the optical retail as we have known it for the last few hundred years, They have already passed the point of no return, and not patronizing will have no effect anymore.

In the old days of history a few thousand years ago when competition was done with weapons and soldiers and the Romans ruled the world which then was still flat, and they did it with btutal force.
What we are seeing today is a version that is more modern but just as brutal , only in different ways.

I agree, but I hold the frame vendors who allow their frames to be sold on this site more accountable.

Good luck in this endeavor. Frames Direct carries over 500 brands and has thousands of models in stock.

Our only consolation is that it is not any more permanent than the theory the world is flat, or that of Roman Domination. Go with the flow, and pay more attention to what you are doing than what someone else is.
