Would I be wrong in thinking someone just heated and twisted that lens?

Maybe just left them alone too long or left them in a hot car. Don't think they were someone with a bad disfigurement.

Perhaps someone attempted to market a special "pool shark" configuration, for aspiring billiard aficionados.

These are the only markings on the frame.

Those are 2 clearly different lens shapes. One is round, the other is oval. Heat didn't do that & nope, they are not turned or twisted.

You sound like you're on the right track, "who made these?" I've seen this asymmetric look before. It was a very cutting edge, outside of the box frame company. I want to say German. I'll get back with you!!

Seriously, those are not only vintage, they were so unique, well I'd say they are really worth something if you have progressive clients! You should sell them as vintage asymmetrical frames. So Cool!!!! I have an old frame facts, like really old! I'm still digging to find out that symbol in the frame!
