    ugly frames!

You know that frame? The one that you've been stuck with that has progressively gone from one price down to 20 bucks? The one that is so ugly it's older than some of your children? I have to laugh, because I just sold that frame, and it found a forever home with someone who loves it!

I was at an area hospital not long ago and noticed that all the frames on people coming in the door looked like they had been bought1n the 1950's in a farm commuity and worn since. I happened to remember that a friend of mine had an optical shop nearby and stopped in for a visit. While visiting I mentioned that he was in a great area because all the inhabitants seemed to need new frames and were way out of style. A little later I observed that these were the very same frames he had on his shelves.

Haha! Good one! I think frames are like people. There's a match for all.

So it's like dog's and their people? They both start looking like each other after awhile?

It's been a very silly day today. First, the ugliest glasses there ever were got sold. Second, had a 90year old sporting a very clean and pressed Member's Only jacket. Third, My 85 year old little old lady dispense asked me where everyone had gone. I told her it was just me for right now, so she told me that she's gonna rob me. I am I wrong about the date and today is actually April Fool's Day?

Exactly. But it's great when you have that one odd frame and you know you didn't "push it" on someone...it was meant for them!

For the record, I did not buy that ugly frame. It was a freebee for answering a survey

Don't worry, I know. I do think we should have a party every time we sell one of the more interesting frames. I'm thinking the huge round plastic woman's frame that I've been looking at for awhile...

I used to buy lunch for the optician when they sold one of the dogs on the shelves :) Some days you could tell who forgot their lunch by what they were trying on people's faces!

Yep. Had a frame once. Had hearts all over it. I just did not like it. I could not give it away. My mom came in for her exam and wouldn't you know it. She loved it. Cought it and then I had to stock more b/c her friends had to have it.

On a side note note I sold a Pair of Sun glass frames that our Dr had for 18 years. Had glass demo lenses in it. The daughter of the doctor that use to own our practice brougt them. how funny. She said wow these look just like the frames my dad use to sell. I didn't have the heart to tell her they were.

I have an Angloamerican frame "Goldfish" (they actually look like angelfish with smaller tails). Bought before I got here in 1985. It's 2 fish kissing complete with rhinestone eyes.

I've had occasional offers but it's such a part of the office I can't/won't sell it- besides it's too brittle by now.

(Did Johns just spittake all over the computer?)
