    Friction controlled screws

To prevent temples from swinging. How do these work in conjunction with a hinge?

Just tighten the barrels and let the screw rust a bit and they will stay tight forever.

A: Temples usually swing because the barrels have been spread. You need to compress the barrels to tight fit before putting screw in.
B: Some screws have a nylon sleeve that help with this an screw retention but barrel compression is the answer if there is one.
C: Don't bother to try to explain to the customer that the frame will fit just as tight or loose on the head as long as the screw is there. You will kill a lot of time to no avail.

The reason I ask is because a new design from Morel has this really nice feel to it and they attribute it to these screws. The best was I can think to put it is like this. Remember old tape cassette recorders? The old ones used to pop the tape out but then eventually they all incorporated that really smooth eject function. Kind of like that. They never loosen.
