    help with a frame

I have a patient with several pairs of very old frames. They were made by Zyloware and are marked nylon...at least 30 years old...probably older.
He would like to have new lenses put into them. The problem is that the frames crack everytime we try to insert or remove the lenses, which frankly he's been pretty understanding about.

What is the best way to go about this? I realize there is a good possiblilty that the frames may just be too old, but we'd really like to try. I'm assuming a frame warmer and force is not the best answer here.

    thanks in advance

Try soaking them in water overnight.

obxeyeguy has the answer, and I will contribute by saying that I find that lenses insert and remove best with a hot water soak, as hot as you can stand(as opposed to hot air)!
