The hero of this show is Bruce Berges of Great Glasses and he is claiming to be a hero as he went to jail for standing up to high prices. He is planning to go to BC as he likes the government and the market there!

I will take anything that marketplace investigates with a grain of salt from now on. Talking to Bruce and giving his comments any wieght is like interviewing Conrad Black on the faults of the justice system. Never any mention on the expenses of running a brick and morter or the fact that we pay business, home ect taxes in ontario to help our system ( I could go on ,but you already know.) I had a guy come in to my shop (lights on, heat on,live person to talk to) and ask why eyeglasses were so much money, after all the are just metal plastic and a couple of screws. I said it's the same reason windows cost alot more than the bucket of sand they are made from. If I can sit at home in my house coat and have orders sent to me, my price will be much lower. Comparing a brick and mortar shop in a mall vs a ware house in an industrial park is not fair. I never realized how sloppy and sensational markert place was. It is the national equire of investigative reporting.

    Trevor Linden commercials

Why does Trevor Linden get his hockey sticks custom made and not buy them from Canadian tire or buy them online. Because they are not the same quality.

Because he probably orders them custom made on-line, just like the eyewear is he wearing that is manufactured incorrectly 43% of the time. With a proper stick and proper eyewear, he certainly would have scored a few more goals and made more money, hence not having to now sell his soul for cheesy Coastal ads.

I thought Tom provided a decent, non-biased report. Certainly exposed the vertically integrated LC empire effectively and left them with a bit of a shiner.

I fail to see how Lux got a shiner . I would have said they had lots of free publicity and they answered well . 3 of the 4 participants did well and the 4 th , the College of Optometry did very poorly.

College of Optometry was squirming . Lux , Bruce and Coastal gots lots of FREE publicity and the shares of Coastal will likely go up this week .

Why don't you discuss the probable impact this show had on the consumer, instead of talking about who got free publicity.
