    Confused q-2100 digital lens system?

Is anyone familiar with this ? My OD came back from TOA all pumped up about this .Does anyone have this machine in their office? How does the ar hold up ? They say you can even make transition type lenses .I'm very skeptical. The reps are coming soon to give us the speal. Any honest feed back will be very appreciated !!

A decent used surface system is basically the same price and gives better results. Farm the AR workout to a lab that can do it right. The only thing you would be gaining with this unit is speed, quality is usually much lower.

I heard that the AR breaks down and the lenses come out looking terrible. Not to mention when the machine malfunctions, you have a very hard time getting customer service there to fix it. This is just what I have gathered from people that have used it. Thank you for your input.

I only use our in an 'emergency' really, or that rare case we need to do a 'favor'.
Realistically, it cost MORE than getting finished blanks from the ware house. AR is the same deal. I cant cast them for anywhere near what I can just order them from.

The periphery on the sv is horrid. cheap cr39 has better over all optics. AR comes out pretty good, but year tops... its a shame that this insanely expensive system sits here... but man. we have a ton of monomer that expired over 6 years ago too... useless.

    Don't do it

We had this system and the A/R is garbage. I don't care how many times they replace it free. Your patient will not be happy!!! It is a waste of time! Limited power range. Way over priced!! The remakes were terrible!! Total waste.

I worked at a place that had this machine, the AR is terrible. They hab bags full of scretched, peeling ar coated lenses. Your patients would be very upset if you gave them this product.
