Figured you'd get a kick out of this one. Had a lady in on Social Assistance. Previously she had worn a progressive but said she didn't like them. Since assistance up here will only pay for a lined bi-focal I didn't think it would be an issue. She had never heard of a lined bi-focal lens before so I pulled out a sample and proceeded to show her how the lens worked. She seemed incredibly apprehensive about it and told me that she'd have issues which would lead her to FALL DOWN THE STAIRS because that's what happens when she wears her progressives. It was at this point I decided that we were gonna only give this lady SV lenses ever. I'm in Canada and I can't for the life of me remember if I ever feared the possibility of a law suit before but when someone tells you that putting them in a multi-focal lens will lead them to fall down stairs how to do you proceed from there?
