Wiley X... Opinions?

Thinking of taking this line on; what are your experiences?

Love them! I ride a Harley and wear my Wiley X sunglasses. They hold up well and can really take a beating. The company is also very easy to work with and the warranty is good.

I ride and put in the climate control series for other riders. Its worked well for us. The company is easy to deal with and the price point is good. I've worn through 2 of the rubber gaskets, but even retail they're only $25.00 apiece. Still the same frame.

I've been stocking them for a couple of years. I rarely sell them with the plano lenses. They're a good line...but you have to send it out unless your edger can cut a shelf bevel. The models with gaskets will have a big ring around the lens edge on rxed lenses because the gaskets are designed to fit against the plano lenses. The lab I've used which does the best is Ice Tech, but Digital Eye Lab is where Wiley X sends their orders if you order rx lenses through them.

Since they're high-impact industrial safety frames, you have to use 2.0mm. min. thickness poly or trivex when you rx them.

Out here in the west, Wiley sends them to Perfect Optics in California. We've had them for a little over a year now, and have done fantastic. Most of the styles have good sell through, approximatly 4 times through on each style. Nice to have a decent looking Z87 product for those that are in the line of work needing safety glasses.

We sell quite a few through the spring to fair-weather motorcyclists. They have the best temples for slipping into a helmet of any sunglasses I've ever had. They also sell well to tradesmen quite well Scince they're Z87.

Another vote for the good...We have had them for over 4 years, and they go well to the riders...ANSI safety approved is a great selling point. They are priced right and blow out the door.

I like them. They sell good. Great Customer Service. Great Product. Yes the ANSI rating is a great selling point the foam insert never seems to get messed up. That is agreat selling point too.

One negative. The "unbreakable nylon" they're made of is a lovely flexible material, but does not adjust easily, if it adjusts at all. They're great frames, but they either fit or they don't.

That's true. Also, if the frame is to be rxed, whoever fabricates the lens should use the same base curve as is on the non-rx version if it's going to ever fit in a similar way. Sometimes the labs making these say their software dictates the use of a 6 bc on something like a -2.50 rather than the 8 bc that was in the original. If it's done that way, you'd better hope it was already fitting too tight with the 8bc or hope the wearer gained 100 lbs. from the time when the order was placed to when it was dispensed.

I think WileyX says heating the frame for edging or adjusting voids the warranty.

I believe you have to use their "contracted lab" only or you void the warranty. The fitting isn't an issue if you use the contracted lab. They are very aware of the BC, and if you order their "digital" product, you recieve the Shamir Autograph 2 Attitude, in either SV or Prg.

We have had Wiley X about 2 years. The sell through well. I have not had any negative issues. They are also great for Dry Eye Syndrome...another great selling point, especially from the doctors.

i dealt with them at a previous office... they did great!

I sold them more with clear lenses as safety glasses.

I have people who have looked online, came in, tried them on for real, figured they would have to pay for shipping, and still have to come back for adjustments, so bought them here. It's all in how you present the idea to them, much like anything else you can get on the great wide web.

FYI, Wiley X is closed to public and does not sell direct to consumer. However, there are special occasions where Wiley X will sell direct to consumer if the consumer lives in an area where they don't have a dealer or consumer is a US Armed Forces member with a valid ID and in mission overseas.

Are you refering to Rx sunwear?? If so I totally agree. I noticed your location of Livermore, CA, so I am assuming you are a WileyX employee. Just wanted to clarify you are reffering to Rx eyewear.

I like the products, as I have stated before, but...why would a company's website have a shopping cart if they don't sell to the public? Is that only for dealers to use? And are there coupons available to dealers?
