Most of those jokers that I have encountered are NOT wearing period correct specs. I have even tried to educate a few of the offenders. The ones that I have tried to educate, blew it off. I guess it's ok to spend thousands to get your threads period correct but not worth a few hundred to get the correct specs.
A few that I know are wearing reproductions from Jas Townsend and son. I prefer the real deal!
