    Clip-on nose pad PLIER???

Does anyone know where I can buy the old style B&L clip on nose pad plier??? I used to have a great one I got from HILCO when I used to work for an Optometrist several years ago. I called Hilco and they don't carry the plier. I talking about the tool that would not smash the clip-on nose pads fulsh but let them still freely move. The plier had a concave back that would allow the nose pads to be put on easy without getting smashed. I have several Ray Bans that use this style of clip-on nose pads.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff

P.S. I would buy be willing to buy a used plier if available.

While it isn't exactly what you are looking for, Micro-Mark tools has some that will do the job. Not listed as a nose pad crimper but check out thier on line catalogue. As a rule thier pliers are 75% lower priced than optical ones and the quality is comperable. On the other hand why not just struggle it done with what you have, as you won't use this plyer more than twice a year.

I have one available that works perfectly even has a tongue that sticks out and gives the pad enough play to rock on the guard arms. I struggled with B&L pads until I got this baby, then they stopped using B&L pads :(. Let me know if you want it.

Old thread, but does anyone know where I can buy one of these tools or can possibly send me a picture of the tool so I know what to look for? I've always struggled with these pads and today a tourist brought in a frame to replace a pad and it reminded me how much I loathe them.
