It's so close, I never would have thought of that.......It's a great suggestion. The New England coast is most beautiful. Not quite as majestic as Big Sur, or the Alaskan Coast but just as beautiful in it's own way.

Please, do not let this sour you on cruising. It was the act of one man, showing off, and I for one will definitely cruise again. Right now, I have to prepare the stock order to buy more Carnival, as I took about a 15% hit today. Money where the mouth is! Also looking to maybe steal another earlier in the spring.

No, it's the one that goes from Florida up to Boston. At least that's what they did. It was all in what they call the inner-coastal waters.

Cruises? I've been on 4 of them, and never slept a night on the ship!

They were one day cruises to the Bahamas from Miami. They were on full-sized cruise ships, although maybe a bit smaller. They had pools, bars, casinos, shows, etc...

In 1982, they were $49, but w/a military discount, they were only $32!!! They left at 7:00 AM, and arrived in the Bahamas somewhere around noon. You could spend the night (or two) there, or get back on and come back the same day. Either way, it was all you could eat, all you could drink, and it was a blast for a bunch of 18 year olds!

I've only been on one cruise and it was in Alaska. It was wonderful but I don't think you can cruise there from Baltimore.

I suggest checking out www.cruisecritic.com It has a ton of information on different boats, cruise lines, ports-just about anything you can think of. It has lots of reviews of the different ships, too.

If you can swing it, get a balcony.

Actually, their "mishap" didn't really affect their stock that badly. They are only about $18 off their pre-recession high of around $50. I think they're only down about $4 from pre-grounding.

Carnival closed today at 32, not really far off of where I bought it 2 years ago ( -8%). I also got my 1099 today, and it returned about 3% in dividend alone, I'll take it, as they give me perks also when I cruise as a shareholder.
