All very nice but what does "similar to" mean? Can it stand being run over by a truck? Trivex can. Is it unaffected by common chemicals? Trivex appearently is. I have more questions. If anyone has more questions or knowledge on this, please post.

More choice in lens materials is always great news. I hope the material is:
    1. Rigid: Trivex tends to warp too easily.
    2. White: Lately i have seen A LOT of ugly yellow MR8 and Trivex lenses.
    3. Good surface quality when CNC direct machined.
    4. Easy to grind: Trivex clogs the drains too mutch

PS: I wouldn't mind if it smells better than the current sulphur hi-indexes . We avoid them for stock lenses because they stink (literally).

Although the following probably means they use sulphur as well :poop::
Tribrid ... hybrid material technology that is the combination of Trivex® lens material and traditional high index technology.

    Thanks for the link Dragon.

Couldn't they come up with a better name than "Tribrid"? Although with the multitude of other misspelled words on that site, maybe they just spelled it wrong.

I just checked with PPG and the product is not yet available in the US. They are looking for distribution right now. Seems like a great new product.

I'm currently helping the North American representative (for PPG) get this launched here. They are interested in independent labs. If you run one, PM me your e-mail address and I'll hook you up with her.

They have clear lenses ready to go and they are waiting on final approval of a tranitions product. This is what I have been waiting to use in 90% of my work!
I am pushing hard to get some lenses tested and in progressives.
