    Miraflex Frames

Has anyone fit children in Miraflex frames? How did you like them? I have had a couple of parents in recently asking about them and I have not had any experience with them so I am curious what other optical professionals think!

I've used Miralax a few times, but I've never heard of Miraflex.

Have them. Love them. Great for little little kids. indestructable! You will not sell a lot of them, but they are cheap to stock, and when you want one, you'll be glad you do.

They are wonderful for children under 4, especially babies. There are no parts, so they can't stab themselves in the eye with nosepads or swallow screws. They are very inexpensive, and from what I understand, if you open an account with them, they list you on their own website as a provider, which is how we have gotten ALL of our patients.

    They are ok!
The lenses tend to fall out even if they are very tight at dispensing. Indestructible (good and BAD for business)
    Too many colors. Low margin.

We've used quite a few of them lately. I bought a bulk of them at VEW, and talked them down to the best price I could find, but "inexpensive"?? Considering what they are, and how they are made (they are basically a big rubber band with eye holes cut out) they are no bargain. I wouldn't spend as much as they cost, except they are truly a niche product.

Does any one have any suggestions for a fix for the problem of Miraflex frames bending the childs ears down when the strap slides dorn the base of the skull.

They are not inexpensive. I'd say they are up there around what (I assume) a Marchon kids frame would cost.

But a Martian kids frame is practically disposable, and the Miraflex seem to hold up really well considering those who wear them are not typically very careful with their spectacles.

Great for toddlers or for older kids that will not take care of their glasses. We are able to put our medicaid kids in them and thats works out really well for us.
