For some reason the notches located on the sides of some rimless formers are showing up on the tracer, and then after thinking it would edge smoothly........it didn't!!
Any advice anybody??

Glue the notch full, and then file until smooth.<IMG class=inlineimg title=Biggrin border=0 alt="" src="images/smilies/biggrin.png" smilieid="30">
The former notch......not the lens.

Thanks.
That should work, however, I am still gonna look for a permanent fix from essilor.
Trace only patterns and adjust the sizes as desired. If your software does not allow for this, you have the wrong software. If your frame suppliers do not send patterns with all frames, sent the frames back. It's not your problem.
Use scotch tape, apply it from the front surface to the back surface of the lens over the notch. It works with all edgers.
I employ the scotch tape method and it works every time.

I know Santinelli is not Essilor! I also know that MR Blue is around $50K. So I was wondering which one of the Santinelli made by Nidek machines is better than Mr Blue for the same amount of money.
Santinelli has :
ME-1200
ME-1000
LEX-1000
LE-1000
SE-9090
AES-1000
AES-1500
The last edger I had from Santinelli was 7070 about 10 years ago!
On the lighter side, why would anyone in their right mind purchase a 60K edger with a name more suited for a toilet bowl cleaner????
.................all that bucks, and you still have to use scotch tape to produce a nice edge on a lens. What an investment! Sheeeeeesh.!
Shoot, the Edgemaster was so bad at producing consistent bevels, that when I had one, I scrapped the bevel wheel and only ran rimless on it with three flat wheels.

I have a ME-1000 edger and the ICE-1000 tracer and blocker this is the best set up that money can buy. I have it for over a year and never had a problem with it, and it can do everything under the sun love it.
I agree with Jacqui and Buckdee,
We run a Nidek ME-1000 with ICE-1000 tracer/blocker in my lab. Never any problem with these machines at all, well over two years now.
Also, service form Innova (in canada) has been great. Very easy to get them on the phone, to assist me with tweaking settings and getting things running perfectly.
How much training did your lab get on this machine? There is an extremely easy fix for this on Mr. Blue. Look at your manual, pages 91-97 for "Free Modification."
1. Enter modification screen.
2. Choose the rounded, straight, or squared tool.
3. Drag the little arrows around the area to change.
4. Click to modify.
It's a brilliant shape modification screen, and makes this function very easy.

Thanks so much. Did not know that.
