Now the really creepy thing here (according to Tom Daschle and friends) is...

By manipulating a $20 bill in the fashion described, shouldn't President Bush have known that the Pentagon and Towers were going to be attacked? Shouldn't he have taken preventative measures!?! (Notice that the recent critics don't seem to say exactly what those preventative measures could and should have been...) Obviously, the whole tragedy was planned by the administration to boost their popularity ratings with the American people.

Geesh! Still, it is one more interesting 9/11 quirky thing...

PS- The really really creepy thing is that the press is buying this latest bit of "20/20 hindsight" hook-line-sinker!

With all due respect, if as President I received a credible warning that terrorists were planning to hijack planes, I would have put the airports on a higher state of alert and taken steps to strengthen security. I'm pretty confident I would have done this even without knowing what they planned to do with these planes. Why Bush didn't do this, I really can't say. My guess is that virtually no one in the governement was taking threats of terrorist activity on U.S. soil seriously prior to September 11th.

Case in point - back in late 1999 (or early 2000) President Clinton refused to heed warnings from a federal commission investigating airport and airline security. If the commission's recommendations had been implemented, the events of Sept. 11th could have been prevented. At the very least, the hijackers would have had to find a different and more difficult way to accomplish the same goal.

This isn't a political issue, although it's inevitable that people on both sides of the fence will try to make it one. This is a matter of our leaders having their heads in the sand.

Alan, perhaps I am missing something in your link, but it looks like any other ordinary site.

I also tried the folding of the twenty. You have to be a little imaginative for the pentagon, but the towers DO stick out.

Well said, Steve. I think though the blame lies with the bean counters. You know the people who jobs it is to say, "if we do this it will cost "x", but if we don't the lawsuits will cost "x". I also blame the airline lobby as they most surely lobbied against it.

We and I am sure the President had no thought in the furthest corner of our minds that armed terrorists would hijack planes and fly them into heavily populated buildings in NY city for the viewing public to watch. I am sure we and the President thought they would hijack a plane and hold the hostages for some demand. I don't think anyone could possibly comprehend the carnage they had in store for us.

We have always seemed to be a reactive nation. I guess in this case we reacted too late!

    Hi, BobV

    O.K.
First of all . . . ya gotta believe me!
I asked my wife to feel my forehead to see if I had a fever.
    I was normal.
    Well . . . that's a matter of opinion!
If you let your cursor sit for a while at the top . . .
A Blue Genie appears, smoke and all . . and , and , and .....
    IT TALKS!
Says: "Look here if you want to know about . . . ."
Then move the cursor elsewhere and the genie reappears and says something else.
    Ahhh, forget it.
    Nobody believes me!
    (Makes a grown man cry!)
    I'm not nuts!

If you're running a firewall or your browser with high security settings then the script on this page is probably being blocked.

Although it would have been easier to let everyone think Alan was bonkers, I thought I'd clarify this anyway! ;)

It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree.

    BLESS YOU ALL . . . BLASS YOU ALL . . .

    What can I say . . .?
It was becomming a problem for me and my wife and, of course, Honey Bear, our beautiful little pooch.

And, Steve, I was getting very close to funny farm fantasy time.

    But, John R . . . the one I hung on to for my sanity . . .
    Oh hell pass another bottle.......
    Yes . . my, friend . . .
    I'd rather have a bottle in front of me . . .
    than a frontal lobotomy!
