    GUCCI at Sears?

I was looking up some frame info for a GUCCI frame and found that GUCCI is on SEARS online store.....since when does SEARS carry high end brands? I knew they did lots with VIVA/DAVIS, but I was surprised to see a luxury brand GUCCI at SEARS.

What other higher end brands do they carry?

Another reason to stop buying from SAFILO........

If I can't sell Gucci at my higher-end practice, I can't imagine Sears can...

If Sears is carrying it, regardless of what it is, it is no longer high end. Case in point: Lands End. Not that LE was ever a "high end" label, but it WAS known as a quality product. What image does it have now?

    That's my point!

I don't have a need to carry a 'high end product line' when it can be purchased at a discounter like Sears, Target, WalMart, Costco etc...etc...etc....

That's a good way to get an ulcer. You should only worry about what is on your frame boards. You actually have some control over those.

I'm sure you cannot find Gucci (except maybe discos, who knows what happens with those) in brick-and-mortar Sears opticals, just online. I'm also sure, like oddles of online opticals, they aren't even providing the frames. Luxottica/Sears probably just made deal with a big online vendor, likely Framesdirect, to make Sears rebranded version of Framesdirect's online store. Essilor's myonlineoptical for ECPs is the same thing, they use Framesdirect to provide the product and online shopping interface. Framesdirect has, unfortunately, just about every commodity frame line around, so whomever set up Sears' version just elected to offer Gucci.

How is gucci even a high end line though? When is it just licensed to and manufactured en mass by safilo? Everything lux, safilo or allison makes should just be put to one tier. The real high end should be boutique lines.
