I would rather believe that you will not find anybody that can make it for you in glass. If you have it made in CR39 I can tint it for you so you wont see the difference.

You might contact the foundry in Dollyville (or Dolly World, or Dolly whatever in Tenn). They actually have a glass casting part and a list published in view of the public that tells one what minerals to add to achieve various glass colors. Also sure that Dow/Corning would be happy to supply such information. Suspect lots of glass/art studios could help or do this for you.

To infuse glass with color you need the right formula. Its not just lead with antimony, but also the other chemicals that make up the rest of the formula. Then typically you have to heat the lens while in high vacuum. And finally you have to evaporate the chemicals uniformly to allow them to infuse the glass. All while keeping the Rx accurate.

There are a few glass coater's left in N. America in deference to where you are posting from.

I did appreciate Chris's list of chemicals. Great background to have.

Hi Mirror, I wonder if you can give the name of the few glass coaters left in N America....................I seem to having a disagreement with my wife, she doesn't like me taking up the living room constructing the vacuum bell and my dog keeps eating the chemicals.
I will be surprised if you can supply those lab names.
