So my previous only source for these lenses (Luzerne) tells me now that they cannot get any more because Rodenstock no longer has a US distributor.
Does anyone have a pair of uncut Colormatic lenses that I could buy? I need -1.75 and -1.00.
Does anyone have a contact in Germany that could supply them? I am desperate--this is for one of my best customers who will ONLY wear Rodenstock!

Thanks, Judy that explains it! Alas, I need single vision lenses, not progressives. Your lens buyer told me that he's written to Rodenstock to see if your lab could be the US distributor, but hasn't had a reply. My fingers are crossed that he'll succeed!

You should try ProFit Optical in Texas. They're a Rodenstock distributor and seem to carry some semi-finished Rodenstock lenses.
ProFit and Rodenstock have parted company. Currently, there is no US distributor for Rodenstock.
Check with this Georg, he's a rodenstock with in Germany.

Sustainable Financial Restructuring of the Rodenstock Group Agreed
The Rodenstock Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of ophthalmic lenses and frames, has come to an agreement with its banking partners for a refinancing of its banking facilities. Under the terms of the new agreement, which has been adopted and recommended by an overwhelming majority of Rodenstock’s banking syndicate, the company’s existing bank facilities will be recommitted with new terms including a resetting of covenants. In addition, the banks
have agreed to commit a further €40 million in working capital facilities to ensure funding flexibility for the company for the next four years. The steps planned in this agreement shall now be implemented rapidly. The way has therefore been paved for the sustainable future development of the company.
Bridgepoint, Rodenstock’s principal shareholder and private equity investor, will retain control of the business with 51% of the equity while the banks will have 49% of the share capital in consideration for the restructuring facility.
"We welcome the fact that this agreement has been reached by a great majority of our banks. We can now refocus on the operational side of our business and recommit our energy to continuing our path of innovation and growth," says CEO Oliver Kastalio. "With this successful refinancing, we have provided the financial structure to secure the continual development of the competitiveness of the Rodenstock Group and its ability to remain profitable," adds CFO Dr. Johannes Burtscher.

German Engineered Luxury in North America
Porsche Design is back in Canada: Tuscany Eyewear, Rodenstock's partner in the USA and Canada, has been marketing the spectacles of the German luxury brand in Canada exclusively since this spring. The starting signal for this cooperation was a media and customer event in the Porsche Design Store on New York's Madison Avenue.
The new Porsche Design Eyewear collection was presented to a select group of American and Canadian guests on the occasion of the International Vision Expo ophthalmic optics trade fair in New York. The new collection convinced the mem-bers of the press and customers who were present with features that are typical of Porsche Design: purist styling, innovative technology, perfect engineering and ex-clusive materials.

Dang! Too late! I just called Luzerne and told them to use Transitions.
Their Canadian office is distributing to the US. Both ProFit and Rodenstock are in financial difficulty, ProFit filed for Chapter 11 in February. Rodenstock has struggled for a few years now, sadly. Hopefully both will recover.
As luck would have it, another customer came in today asking for the Life XS in Colormatic. I'll call Canada tomorrow.

Woohoo! Thanks Braheem! I wish I'd had this number for my single vision customer, but my progressive customer is going to be thrilled.
The only have Rodenstock Life 1.60 clear, poly clear and colormatic, no SV, no D28.
