    We currently have an Optical Business Consultant career opportunity. Candidate may be located anywhere in SE territory. Ideal living locations: Atlanta, GA or Orlando, FL. Overnight travel: 60%


    POSITION PURPOSE
    The Optical Business Consultant is responsible for securing new optical customers and growing our existing Optical customer retail locations. This means helping these customers assess the feasibility of operating a retail optical dispensary and, if feasible helping them design, set up and teach them to operate the dispensary in an efficient and profitable manner.
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Work closely with Optical OD/MDs to complete an optical dispensing feasibility study; this includes, but is not limited to, a SWOT analysis, establishing potential financial targets, developing potential account growth opportunities, evaluation of managed care contracts and dispensing projections
    • Once an account is established, provide dispensary design, financial forecast creation and budget management expertise to the OD/MD management team
    • Train MD/OD management team on practice scheduling, product specifications and benefits, steps for increasing patient revenue and other various Essilor designed training programs (i.e., Capture Rate, 2nd Pair)
    • Provide consulting services to OD/MD management that creates, manages and expands existing practice revenue and offer recommendations that result in the purchase of EOA and subsidiary products
    • Strengthen the consulting relationship through the use of EOA resources such as, but not limited to, IHMS, MyOnLineOptical.com, Marketing services such as merchandising and advertising
    • Manage practice key business indicators and other practice metrics to assess and ensure a strong position for EOA and its subsidiaries within each account; optimize operational and financial elements of the practice
    • Create new, innovative methods for growing practice revenue using Essilor and Essilor subsidiary products
    • Develop new leads through relationships with all Essilor channels and trade shows as appropriate
    • Make professional presentations to various audiences about the value of retail dispensing in an Ophthalmology practice
    • Provide on-going coaching and mentoring for practice administrators and optical managers related to retail optical management
    • Extensive travel required

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
    • 7 to 10 years sales experience; wholesale optical sales process experience desired
    • 5+ years experience in developing business plans with large accounts
    • Highly developed negotiation skills
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills required; both verbal and written
    • Demonstrated computer skills in sales, financial systems and Microsoft products required
    • Proficiency with Windows XP, MS Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Strong understanding of finance, margins, and return on investment
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and influence key decision makers
    • Demonstrated ability to influence vertically and horizontally
    • Must be willing to travel. (60%)
