Lab lost customer's own Persol 2962-S black size 59

It was a brand new frame he received as a birthday present.

I don't have an account with Persol. Does anyone have this? Or can anyone get it for me? I found it for $200 online, but I hate to stick the lab for a retail price (although I am plenty mad about this!) and would really appreciate being able to replace it at wholesale.

If you don't have an account, and don't have a friend with one, tell the lab how they can replace it for you online. It should be Thier Problem. And They probably have and account that has an account with persol.

What Chip said. This is on the lab - not you and not your client.

The lab hasn't found anyone with a current account with the Evil Empire. They said I could buy it off the internet and they'll pay for it, but I hate doing that to them.

Labs sometimes lose frames or have employees that are less than scrupulous. The lab is on the hook for the frame and should be able to figure out how to replace it for your patient. If you can get it online so can they.

Thank you, for at least trying not to "stick it" to the lab. We all appreciate the efforts.

The lab has acknowledged its responsibility, VHB is simply trying to be courteous. It's a trait we seem to have lost.

$200 Shipped might not be that far off the wholesale!

Update: Two weeks after the lab shipped it to the wrong customer, it was returned to the lab. TWO WEEKS!!! What kind of a dispenser keeps someone else's job for that long? And never notified the lab? When I get a wrong job, I call the lab and then I call the store it was supposed to go to and ask them if they want me to ship it directly to them.

On top of that, I finally had ordered a pair online, several hours before the lab let me know that they had received the job. Since the online seller had no phone number, I sent two emails within the 24 hour cancellation window. I have had no acknowledgement, but I am hoping I'm not stuck for the $185.

I don't know whether I'm madder at the lab for its carelessness (I had told them to hold everything and ship on the 19 because I was on vacation until the 20th, but they shipped it on the 13th and had no tracking number) or for the shop that held onto my job for TWO !@#$%^&* WEEKS without the courtesy of letting the lab know.

Steam is coming out of my ears!

Further update: I see that it was Order Entry's error and inexplicably the job was entered with a separate "Bill To" address that was different from mine. Why it got shipped to them is a mystery. However, that still doesn't explain the two week delay.

So if the initials of your business are VBOA and you are in Pittsburgh, then I would love an explanation. And you can count on me to behave responsibly if I ever get one of your jobs.

Further update: It was at the lab the whole time. My apologies to VBOA--not their fault at all.

I hated this problem because we (the lab) had to make it right, and you never knew what it would ultimately cost. We had a problem with employee theft in out lab for a period. We started unmounting the lenses, (seems it was always nice sunglasses). This helped. I suggest retailers do the same before sending them. I know it should not be nessessary but if it helps prevent a problem, why not?
