Position: Optician / Optical Manager

The Healthy Vision Institute is seeking a self-motivated, career-oriented professional that has experience in managing and growing a highly profitable optical shop.

About Our Company:

The Healthy Vision Institute is a leading health care facility focusing on seniors and diabetic eye care. We recently opened our first optical shop, catering to seniors and diabetics. We are seeking to expand our optical business to cater to higher-end clientele as well. Therefore, we desire an experienced optical manager that can grow our optical shop in three successful vision care centers, catering to higher-end clientele, seniors, and diabetics. We have the finances and patient base to support a passionate optical manager.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

· Licensed as an Optician in the State of Florida
· Must be able to provide excellent customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Must possess a strong sales background. This includes the knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This also includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
· Must have experience working with CompuLink software.
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, inventory control, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
· Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, producing productivity reports, and other office procedures and terminology.
· Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
· Excellent communications skills

Job Duties:

· Verifies that finished lenses are ground to specifications.
· Prepares work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.
· Measures clients’ bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, papillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.
· Heats, shapes, or bends plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands.
· The Optician evaluates prescriptions in conjunction with clients’ vocational and vocational visual requirements.
· Assists clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensures that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
· Fabricates lenses to meet prescription specifications.
· Maintains records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.


· Recommends specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs.
· Instructs clients on how to wear and care for eyeglasses.
