    CNN eyewear

So there I was, consoling myself over the loss of my beloved N.Y. Islanders to the Godless Maple Leafs from the ‘Centre of the Universe’. Upon tuning in to CNN (hoping find out that the series was lost due to Taliban infiltration of the team, specifically Darcy Fuc, er, Tucker) I couldn’t help but notice Rudi Bakhtiar.

For those of you who don’t tune in to CNN, Rudi is a very attractive anchor for the late watch. Well, usually attractive. Last night, I flipped the news on, and I didn’t recognize her. Stunning. Hair perfectly coiffed, great choice in clothing, just gorgeous, except for one thing: her eyewear.

Now, don’t get me wrong here. She was wearing a trendy zyl frame, rather angular, quite dark (of course). It’s just that the shape doesn’t suit her at all. Now maybe I’ve missed a trend in eyewear fashion, but I think it’s a poor choice. Did anyone else notice this?

    Ok, maybe it’s just me…

    Shwing . . .

    You're dead on.
What that frame did to that face is something only a mother could love!
I can only imagine what an incredible look that woman would have if the lines of her eyewear were a little softer and the shape a little fuller. I come from the school that should accentuate the positive and "point" to her attributes. But, that frame . . .

    Oy vey! (Excuse the ethnicity!)

This is NOT an ugly chick!

But, that frame closes in on a portion of her beautiful face, squinches it, and then leaves the rest of her face hanging out there like it doesn't belong to the ensemble!

    On the other hand . . . .
There will be those who will say....
    That is SOOOOOO cool.
That's cause the frames speaks for itself and if you hung it from a tree it would gather attention.

If by any chance someday credit is given to her "eyedresser", and that person is on the Optiboard . . . .

    I'm dead!

Alan, I was watching the Dallas news last night, and there was long-time city councilman, John Wiley Price, wear new stylish eyewear, in the latest black zyl catseye women's style....can't imagine JWP wearing a women's frame, unless he was trying to cultivate the GLF vote?

I will have to tune in to CNN late tonight and try to catch a glimpse of this newsbabe, er, person. I am still trying to warm up to Paula Zahn in the mornings (I prefer the one supporting cast lady and the guy who always wears the dishevelled tie)...

Who is the attractive blondish newslady on CNN who wears the distinctive zyl frames all the time (one of the many made famous during the election "crisis")? Her trademark seem to be those dark zyl frames (which actually work quite well with her "look").

Also, has anyone ever noticed the one weathergal on the Weather Channel who has the p.d. of (I'm guessing) oh, 85mm!!!??? With eyes that far apart, she must have superb binocular vision!

As for the hockey playoffs, I'm just happy to be able to razz my Flyer-fan sister-in-law. Philadelphia was a spectacular failure this year (why just lose when you can be humiliated instead). Of course, she will no doubt note the absence of my fave team (Penguins). However, sometimes its better to not make the playoffs than to be utterly destroyed in the first round...

Actually, Pete, she wasn’t wearing her eyewear last night, and her mode of dress was very typical/ blasé. I figure that there must have been some event she was attending that evening…

I don’t recall noticing what (if any) rx she had in the frames, so they may have been simply cosmetic (and never to be worn again?)...

The other anchorchick you are referring to (I think) may be MSNBC’s Ashleigh Banfield. If so, you are gazing at another Canadian beauty. In fact, Ms. Banfield used to be the anchor right here in Edmonton many years ago…

Meanwhile, here is a link to CNN:

    Rudi, Rudi, Rudi!!!

Okay, all political correctness aside- she's g o r g e o u s (and, even better, a brunette)! Exactly when is she on CNN? I have a sudden desire to be very current on all the news!
    :D
    I can see it now...
"But honey, I have to stay current on world events!"
    "Here's $0.50, go buy yourself a newspaper!"
    "Yes, dear..."

On second thought, maybe I'll just stick to American Morning- with Paula Zahn

    To: Texas Ranger

It's when GWP starts singing: " Mach. Macho, Man" with a lisp or starts looking like the Village People, that you have cause for concern.
Whatever floats his boat, I guess!

    Shwing,

I have seen her in the frames you mention before. Interesting enough, I couldn't think of who she was until you posted the link to her picture. However, I had no problem remembering those frames; that is really all I remembered about her appearance. I think she was shooting for an Larry King effect and missed. At least I remember more about King than just his glasses.

I formed the same opinion as Alan W. It was a really nice frame but didn't fit her face quite right.

    We need . . .

    We need . .
    A Mr. Blackwell of eyewear.
Someone who will get in there a rip away at the ugly and say very little about the good!
    (just kidding abot the latter).
Someone who will send a link of the review we do to their website or whatever.
Maybe we can even get a response from celeb in retort!
    Have a ball.
    Any takers?
    Huh......?
    No? . . .
    C'mmon!
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Please!
