    Confused ECCA Myfocals???

    Hey Everyone,

At the office today, a patient came in and asked if we carried a "MyFocal" progressive. After asking the patient where they had heard about this lens, they told me that an optician at the local EyeMasters recommended it to them. One of my colleagues called the EyeMasters to see what they could find out but she was only told that it is an ECCA (EyeMasters parent company) exclusive lens. Does anybody here know anything more about this? Is it just a budget lens along the lines of Adaptar or Navigator? Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Jon

Could be one of the cornucopia of "private label" FF PAL's in the market today.

MyFocals is an Essilor unbranded lens available exclusively in the US by ECCA. It's available in 1.50, Trivex and Poly. The logo is very similar to an upside down v like this: '^'
The lens has been available as an essilor generic pal outside the US since early '05 but only in ECCA stores since about last yr.

According to the 2010 OLA PAL Identifier, it's an iRX Pro from Specialty Lens, owned by Essilor.

MyFocals, as it were told to me, were comparable to Ovation. They now come in CR39, Poly, Trivex, transition in all 3 materials, and polarized of Poly and Trivex.

I am an Optician for Visionworks. It is practically identical to a Natural. It is a Visionworks/ECCA exclusive lens and its also available as a Digital prog. Before the "Myfocal" was available we dispensed the Natural as our generic prog and prog wearers have told me they seem exactly the same with either or
