    Ontario Works medically necessary CL

i know I'm probably wasting my time with this... but, I have a patient, high myope, needs RGP's to achieve decent vision. Problem is that she recently relocated to Ontario from Alberta, lives in a shelter, is on Ontario Works, but not OHIP coverage yet... She lost the right lens, left lens is just gross :hammer:

Any one have any idea what Ontario Works will reasonable pay towards a pair of RGP contacts if medically necessary?

If you send a detailed letter explaining the reasons why she requires RGP's, a quote, and request for purchase order they will consider covering them. It is generally more difficult to get an approval for costs over and above the ministry guidelines from Ontario Works than it is from Disability, but if you are persistent and they have a decent case worker they should approve it.
