What do you consider to be the best brand-name A/R?
Super HiVision EX3, Crizal Avance, Crizal Sapphire?

We have never had a problem or return of the Crizal Avance. I haven't seen the value added for sapphire and haven't tried any others.
Crizal Avance is outstanding. Crizal Sapphire is great, too, but I don't sell it very often.
A question !
In France we don't have these names for A/R, but Crizal Alizée+ and Crizal Forte.
The principal difference is that the Forte resist better to the stripe.
Is it the same in US ?
The price difference is about +15%

I just went on crizal USA and checked the "Find an Eyecare Professional" and my query was Naples, FL, New York, and Montreal and the response was .........................zero found

I've got Ex3 on two of my pairs, and I think it's great for me, but when I'm adjusting someones frame and cleaning them over and over, I feel that super hi-vision is more slippery and resists smudging better.
Ex3
Use pretty much nothing but Avance or one of our local labs "equivalent" which we don't have any problems with either.
Use Clarion XS, Crizal Alize, Avance. The essilor ARC tends to craze so I've started to use Zeiss Pure coat instead of Avance. Sucks that I cant combine Varilux lenses with Zeiss ARC.
I've had a few different crizal , and zeiss products, crizal is more marketing than innovation and quality (not saying its bad, just could be better), zeiss is pretty good, i have no complaints with it except it scratches just as easy as most others. What i have found that has impressed the hell out of me (not easy to do btw) is super hi-vision, the durability is phenomenal, the light admittance is top notch, and the super hydro coating is slicker than an oil covered ice rink. but if you like a little more slick with your willie, try i-coat.
equal opportunity offender!!
I actually had a patient call yesterday to inquire about the Crizal commercial she saw and wanted to know more information. Educated the patient a little about it and invited her to stop in so I could show her in person what a difference it makes, then offered her 20% off a pair of glasses that cannot be used with insurance. She showed up about 2 hours later and bought 2 pairs of glasses, one clear and one polarized rx, both with non-glare on the lenses :bbg:
My favorite is iCoat's Stainless AR. Since I switched over totally to it, our AR problems have disappeared, except for the Crizal (flavor of the week until they bring out a new, super-er version) we use for VSP, they still craze more than any AR I've ever used.
iCoat's Aura AR (what I now have on my pair) is as hard to scratch as Hoya's EX3, but so far it seems to be a bit slicker, which is my only complaint against EX3. I too also had great success with Super Hi Vision.

Crizal Avance by far the best. Very few problems/returns.

Best I had was a Tefkon. But how do you know what you are getting now days? Trust the lab to say? HA!
Hey Berry.........refractive surgery?
Oh my....then we are trading "Reflections" off a surface, that A/R coating does a very good job elevating for......TA DAAA "Night time GLARE" that refractive surgery does a very good job at.
Decisions decisions......which is the lesser of the two evils?
Barry I think you miss two other benefits of AR lenses. First and probably most important, your lenses transmit more light when treated. Untreated lenses reflect almost 10% of available light away from the lens.Secondly the benefit of AR lenses is cosmetic. Others can see your eyes, not reflections.
Just my take! hj

Most house brand ARs are hydrophobic, oleophobic and is the best value when you look at the cost and quality.
