Does anyone know how to use the frame tracer data on the santinelli 7070 LE edger to transmit info to vision web. This is for our vsp jobs, since vsp will not allow us to edge our bifocal jobs. (only single vision).
The cheapest used individual frame tracer that I found was more than I can afford right now.
I don't know that it can export the data. There are a couple rubber-capped unused ports on the back of mine, but I cannot find any info, even in the manual, about exporting the data.
My lab 100% subsidizes my stand-alone tracer in exchange for maintaining volume. Every lab I know will offer a tracer on loan in exchange for volume.
I personally never use it for VSP jobs. The lab is getting paid to edge and mount, and it's extra pain for you to make a second Visionweb order just to transmit tracer data. It's easier for me to drop the frame in a box and slap on the lab's pre-paid shipping label. If the customer can't give up their frame, they have the option to buy new frames or forgoe the insurance benefits, in which case I would happily remote trace and get the lenses in half the time too.
You cannot retrieve the trace data from the 7070 for exporting.
