This online retailers on Monreal Southshore only sale frames from C.O.S. and the website look almost like an official Silhouette one ... smell very bad

C.O.S. will be on my red list very soon.

The answer is .. it is not us ... but one of our customers .. who is not and optician or optometrist. So .. not them but they are happy to supply the frames ....

The above company is called 514-billets.com and is listed as a ticket agent for all spectacles and shows in Montreal. A google map check shows the adddress and location for 514 match. The wife or husband is probably connected to COS and has made arrangements with COS to sell them on line....OR ...COS has no knowledge of what one of their "reps" might be doing. The only good thing about it is that it will hurt COS and finally it is showing the true "RETAIL VALUE" of COS's frames.

Has anybody showed the website to Barry Santinni. Remember he became a "Partner" with COS and I would be interested to hear his opinion on this.

I checked out the telephone number and it comes up wth the following additional wedsites. Your Super Cash ( a pay check loan company)....AdultAction .com.....A porno website and finally ....ZOOPHILIA.COM. All at the same address and same telephone number. Now that what I call COS associating with some high brow websites. Really classy of COS to check out who they are dealing with.

Radio 800 CJAD is now advertising Silhouette Frames and gives away a weekly pair of their sunglasses valued at $ 400.

I would expect to see more of this popping up - if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Companies are simply becoming desperate to either hang on to or gain back their market share.

And reaching a web audience is the simplest form of marketing and very cost effective.

Most will just set up arm's length subsidiaries to help distance themselves and cushion them from the negativity this will create. Sure they will lose a few; but may gain more than they lose.

Customer loyalty is almost officially dead with most larger companies. That's why I always say, support the little guy (or girl) who are able to provide the one on one level of service since they are small and genuinely care.

In my short dispensing carreer ( 1yr Ha ha) I've come to the conclusion there's no future in me carrying many brand names. I can find these brands for less than my cost. It cheapens the brand. Thankfully my patients are 45+ and in poor econmy value is important.
Once they are available to the consumer online they can use my dispensary as a dressing room: try them on, make sure they fit and then order online! There's a good video of a young guy doing this on youtube.

BTW if your're looking for Low/Blow Vision stuff; the Eschenbach rep came buy with his low vision wares and I did a quick search and found his stuff for less or the same as my cost!
