I just got in the new Maui Jim's and they have a new mirror coating that us gradient. Has anyone done this in RX?
I think it is a great look and should be useful here in Florida.
Thanks
Craig

I have a gradient flash mirror on a pair of my own. It does look cool. I think most labs do this.
Yup.
Craig, is it different than the double grad. mirror they've done for some time?
iCoat can do them, as well as NACL or Opticote.

There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.
Is Mirror coating on RX lens possible?
I'm looking for RX lenses that can be like oakley's ruby or ice lens.

Maui Jim has a bi gradient or "squint" mirror that they do on ALL lenses. Mirrored at the top and bottom and nothing in the middle. They just came out with a gradient polarized lens, which is what I think is being discussed by the OP here. As far as I know, it is plano only.
