    Idea iPhone Thickness App

Yeah there's an app for that. This app computes the thickness for a point focal lens design in various plastic materials using third order theory. Input the prescription, A size, Dbl, and PD for the patient then select if you want to compute an aspheric or spherical lens and a table is displayed with center and edge thicknesses. The calculator iterates through the thickness values so the thickness is accurate to a threashold of +/- 0.1mm.

    Directions to install:

This is a HTML5 app so it can be updated fairly regularly.
    1. Click on the following link: *************
    2. Then book mark it to your home screen.
    3. Enjoy and please comment with suggestions for improvements and/or new features.
*If you enjoy the app and want to see more, rather than a donation which was suggested just open up an account with Luzerne and support your business with innovative tools and a depth of products unmatched by the competition.

Special thanks to Barry Santini for testing and suggestions, special thanks to Dr Davis in Eldersburg, MD for the idea.

This is awesome, Harry. Thanks. Bookmarked to the smartphone. Now if I could just get Meister's Spectacle Optics on the droid... Anyone have a solution to that?

That's an interesting idea, I can't port his app over but it can be recreated.

Sure why not, I don't own the web. That's the reason why I made it in HTML5 format.

Suggestion , Display the aspheric calculations side by side with the regular non-aspheric . It makes it easier for the customer to decide .

Nice job Harry. I like the way you list the thickness values.

Reading this thread, I decided to share with you all something that I've done back in 2006. It seems to me that I'll like it.

I've developed a app for java supporting mobiles (j2me) with the following features:
    -cross cylinders add
    -vertex distance conversion
    -cylinder transposition
    -prentice rule
-prismatic conversion from base to axis
-base curve calculation for different index
    -clinical equivalent for contact lents
-tear power lens for RGP contact lens
-keratometric conversion between radius and power
-acomodation demand for a specific far distance power
    - and least but not last... a faceform and pantoscopic calculator for determinating prescription for curved dispensing glasses.

All of this in your phone!!!

I'll make available here, for free, a prentice rule j2me app, that is already available in my site. The full version will be sold shortly. I hope you all will aprecciate.
