I knows this gonna show me to be a lot dumber than I should be, but splain what "gallery" means. I might have one If I knowed what it wuz.
The gallery is a protruding ridge of metal wire that is at the top and the bottom of a monocle. I'm not explaining it very well, sorry! But if you think of a monocle as a round lens, then trying to hold it between your raised eyebrow & cheek would put the lens practically on your eyeball. So a gallery is a built-out shelf that makes it easier to have it stay in place.
I'll bet that could have been explained more simply and clearly, but that's the best I can do!

The gallery is much like a ptosis crutch, for those of us who remember fabricating them.
A dual ptosis crutch, one on top, one on bottom.
