    Optronics horizon lll

    Hi,

I need to replace a servo motor for my older horizon lll edger, I called optronics and got a price, it was very expensive. Does any one know of an alternate source to buy these motors?

any one have a dead horizon lll, I would be interested in the parts.

    Thank you.

Sorry. I was never able to find reasonable prices on these. That is why I quit buying from NO. They tell me they have a better product, so whin I look, the first thing I look to see is if they still use those. They do. I don't.

What does a replacement motor cost and why would you not just have someone rebuild the old one ?

If you have a decent motor re-builder in your area that would be the way to go. If you have some talent in things electro-mechanical you could do it yourself. You will find that bearings, brushes etc. are available from industrial supply houses.

A new Motor is a bit over $800, someone has offered to sell me his old machine. The problem is not really the motor but the encoder.

Do you want to sell your machine ? How much would you want for it as is ? Which tracer and blocker are you using with it?
