Having issues with tape removing markings after surfacing. Was fine for a while now I am losing 50% of my markings. Anyone have a good tape recomendation.

We used to scribble over the markings with china marker before putting the tape on. it seemed to help without being a real pain in the neck extra step. We had to use the china marker anyway to mark the axis and prism direction.
"Axis and prism direction" WAY old school. We just use a generic progressive verification mask over the markings.
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.
oh yeah, I forgot about those stickers, it's been so long since i've been in a surfacing lab. and we did have an old school lab. That darn generator could have been invented by devinci for all i know.
Duplicate a mark of each major reference point (MRP, PRP, engraving circles, etc) on the back of the lens. That way, when the front peels off, you'll still see the ones on the back.

Lines!...... we don't need no stinkin lines! I would consider that a benefit. Really all you need are the fitting point, MRP and the two laser marks marked to accurately, check and fit a PAL. I hate removing PAL marks.

What type of progressives are you processing? Usually progressive markings for Signet Amorlite and SolaMax will come off after surfacing regardless...other brands such as Essilor Zeiss etc are not easily removed after deblocking. Check with your tape supplier (DAC, Venture Tape, PSI etc) and make sure the surface saver is for your surface blocking application. They have several versions based on wax or alloy blocking methods.
Venture Tape makes static cling stickers we put over markings before taping. They work great and will take care of your problem.

Why dont you just change tape? or a drop of baby oil on your finger streaked across the 180.
Scotch tape over the markings (that crap does not stick to much) then surface tape over that.
