Honestly, after Lenschic left, it went downhill fairly quickly.

Still, every so often they came up with some good info.

Sad thing is, my first thought was EoH = Essilor of Holland.......
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

I agree, LC made the site what it was. I will miss it though.

Interesting last post predictions. No surprises, but interesting.

    Essilor moves into retail.
Essilor drops the Definity and rolls out a new free form design by Shamir.
    Essilor/Luxottica form partnership.
    VSP buys Zeiss.
    Essilor buys Vision Source.

Come on it's a logical step. Essilor buys Luxottica, then a major share of vision source. To be honest, if I were Essilor I would do the same.

Chris, I know you had something to do with this.

They made fun of you at one time, and now about one year later the website closes. And you really know the ins/outs of the internet...

I don't see this as coincidence.

OB is more boring than my social life since the founders of FezzJohns (Fezz & Johns) split! Their input, energy, wit, sarcasm, good looks and charm are really missed! Others like Optical24/7 and OBX have vanished as well! I miss their posts!
Even at its worst, OB is far better than the carcass this place has become! Since LC left, this place has become the place where fun comes to die!
**** off right back at you EOH!

Sorry to see the site go, I have alwasy enjoyed the rumors and inside info and have recommended many of my accounts to check it out. I call it the optical Star magazine. I hope everyone finds a new home and continues to feed our paranoid side with truth tainted in horribly perverted images.

drk......................eyeoverheard.com has had a down trend in visitor statistics over the last 3 month ,

    3 month0.00003-40%

    1 month0.00001-70%

then we probably never will know what really happened, some of these large corporations they contiously had been marching on their toes, are actually very trigger happy with lawyers guns. So maybe they just had to retire everything or else.....................

I didn't mind reading EOH but the grammar was atrocious. It would prevent me from linking to them because to be quite frank it was embarrassing.

I'm going with LensChic leaving that caused the drop in visitors. The timing, especially for the last month is about right.

I think Ryser launched malware that repeatedly disabled their server, causing financial ruin.

OK, so when will we learn how OB goes out?

Haven't been here much in the last few months....Too busy trying to keep the doors open, no time to visit OB on a regular basis anymore. Especially when many of the threads sent me clicking the close button to keep from going into a desperate emotional spiral.
