Bad weather

Lots of snow, but it is very light and fluffy. My neighbour is using his leaf blower to blow it away.

I just do not get how Minnesota can get an expansion team and give it such a plain name with such awful colours.

We got a few inches of that light, fluffy, powder snow last night. That's the worst kind, I feel like you get 0 traction out of it!

Also, I agree about the colors but I LOVE their 3rd jerseys. It will be their year..some year :bbg: :p

Yea you guys are going to get smacked in the face today! It's snowing pretty good up here in Omaha and the wind is horrific but it's supposed to be -35 below with windchill tomorrow..oh yay! Remind me of why we live in the Midwest?

P.S. We closed a whole 30 minutes early yesterday but open for business today! Let's see how many patients cancel or don't show up..:hammer:

None of the vision center associates came in today so we are closed. I do not want to get stranded at work.

Yay. We're closing at 5:30 instead of 7:00 tonight. Looking at the schedule, almost all of the patients have canceled for this afternoon. I certainly wouldn't want to go out in this 40 mph blizzard conditions to get my eyes checked!

I didn't bother to go in. I have a months worth of pt to use up and I know I wouldn't be doing anything at work anyway. Besides my wife is home and we are cleaning house.

Close the shop due to bad weather? We'd be closed half the winter. Michiganders are a hearty bunch, if it snows we just leave earlier, drive slower and drink more alcohol at the end of the day. The days the schools close due to weather are some of our best days. The only people who cancel their appointments are those who have somehow found themselves transplanted here from warmer climes and aren't quite sure what to make of this white stuff.

Yeah CocoIsland58! I was shocked when our entire Health system shut down, with the exception of emergency/urgent care services. So we were closed. we did, however, get 4 hours of pay, if we want to use vacation to cover the other 4 hours we can. But yes, Michigan is hardcore. We go to work in snowshoes if we have to.

We were -33 wind chill here the other day. Just got a Weather Bug update that we're in a wind chill advisory tonight-tomorrow. I'm "ok" with it being cold but I dislike the 20-30 mph winds that come along with it. Again, you Canadians keep your cold air masses!! :bbg:
